Unleashing an army of knowledgeable writer-contributors to decipher the world of tech news and products for the rest of us: Examiner.com launches ExaminerTech.
Examiner.com, the leading online publisher featuring expertise in a variety of categories from more than 85,000 contributors, has launched a specialized digital product dedicated to providing consumers with fast and simplified answers to their everyday tech questions and problems.
“We realized we were uniquely positioned to respond to consumers’ needs with our large team of active tech Examiners,” said Ashish Kapur, CEO of Examiner.com. As Kapur noted, the average consumer thinking about a smart phone purchase may not be a follower of tech blogs but still needs trustworthy opinions and how-to guidance. “We bring a lot more than a few expert blogger observations to this space—we have an army of 500 tech contributors who are continually reporting news, reviewing products and answering questions in simple everyday language that consumers can understand and access quickly.”
In addition to frequent news updates, a library of “how-to guides” and photo-driven product tours, Kapur is particularly proud of two product features that he says demonstrate ExaminerTech’s unique strengths:
Quick-poll allows site visitors to pose questions to the tech Examiners for which there might be a simple yes or no answer, or only a limited number of responses, such as “Should I switch from Samsung Galaxy III to the iPhone 5?” or is Verizon’s hotspot a decent alternative to broadband service? Examiners are alerted that they have poll questions to respond to and votes accumulate quickly.
In addition to user-generated polls site staff frequently post polls to Examiners on hot topics in anticipation of consumer questions. All past polls are available as a searchable collection.
Tech Hotline provides a fast way to provide answers to consumers’ open-ended questions, such as “my Samsung Extrovert phone from Verizon won’t turn on even though it’s fully charged—anyone have an answer to this problem?”
“We’re excited to be able to help consumers in a world where tech news and product releases are moving at such a fast pace these days,” said Kapur. “It’s a lot for most of us to keep up with.”
